The IGCC (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) power station in Puertollano, Ciudad Real, belonging to ELCOGAS, S.A., is the largest in the world using solid fuel (335 MWeISO ). It is based on European technology and allows the combined cycle gas turbine to be supplied with synthetic gas (syngas - IGCC operating mode) or natural gas (NGCC operating mode).
The ELCOGAS simulator has been used for training since mid-1998, including training sessions in the annual programme for operating personnel. The versatility of the simulator allows a wide variety of choices for training sessions to be organized.
